Jazz Faculty Concert Series celebrates its 11th season

North Central College’s Jazz Faculty Concert Series returns this fall for its 11th season! The nine-concert series features various members of the internationally known faculty of the College’s esteemed Jazz Studies program. The season will kick off Friday, September 20, with jazz pianist Chris White, who will be joined by saxophonist Mitch Paliga, vibraphonist Brad Stirtz, bassist Kelly Sill and drummer Jack Mouse.
The series is co-presented by Flashpoint Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization promoting improvisation as an invaluable life skill, drawing people into the improvisatory process with innovative artistic and educational experiences.

All concerts are presented on Friday evenings at 8 p.m. in the Madden Theatre, Wentz Concert Hall & Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The season lineup is as follows:
• Sept. 20: An Evening with Jazz Pianist Chris White
• Nov. 1: An Evening with Jazz Vibraphonist Brad Stirtz
• Nov. 15: An Evening with Jazz Saxophonist Mitch Paliga
• Dec. 6: 7th Annual Jazz Faculty Christmas Concert
• Jan. 10: An Evening with Jazz Trumpeter Art Davis
• Jan. 31: An Evening with Jazz Bassist Kelly Sill and Drummer Jack Mouse
• Feb. 14: An Evening with Jazz Vocalist Janice Borla
• Feb. 28: An Evening with the North Central College Big Band, with guest artists (TBA)
• Apr. 17: An Evening with Jazz Trombonist Tim Coffman
