Meet miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, the man who believes the Christmas holiday is merely "humbug." He grudgingly gives his clerk the day off for family, but refuses to celebrate the holiday himself. In this musical interpretation of the Charles Dickens classic, Scrooge is visited by a succession of spiritsthe ghost of his deceased business partner, Jacob Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet-to-Comeand learns he must reconsider his outlook on life. "A Christmas Carol" captures both the humorous and touching moments of the classic story with witty dialogue and fresh new songs, conveying Dickens' original message that the holiday season should be a "kind, forgiving, charitable time," a sentiment which still rings true today.
